A postcard to Norwegian LFC fans

Dear fellow Liverpool fan,

Unfortunately, we are not enjoying our "summer holidays" this year. The prevailing weather around Anfield is gloomy - mist often comes down and no one can see what's going on there any more. The prospects don't look good either.

Liverpool FC needs our help. The Club is probably in the most vulnerable position it has ever been in since Bill Shankly brought us out of the 2^nd Division. We are laden with debt, owned by two Americans who rarely speak to each other, and who seem to know little and care even less about the real values at the heart of our Club. As LFC fans we must act - to solve the problem of "ownership" once and for all.

You have probably already heard about the formation of ShareLiverpoolFC. It is a project designed to deliver ownership of LFC into the hands of its fans all over the world. I won't trouble you with an account of how it works or who is involved - you can read for yourself at the new website: www.shareliverpoolfc.com

I know many of you will already know something about us. When we first put the shareliverpoolfc website up five months ago, we were not surprised to discover that, out of 210 countries who visited the website, Norway was most active outside of UK - a testament to the massive enthusiasm that so many Norwegian fans have for LFC.

I saw for myself just how enthusiastic you guys are when I visited Stavanger recently for the "Legends" game. Some of you may have heard the brief speech I gave at the dinner afterwards (if you weren't too drunk!). ShareLiverpool FC is supported by a number of those players who were in Stavanger and there's a message from them below:

A MESSAGE FROM SOME LIVERPOOL ?LEGENDS?

We urge you to go to the website and consider what ShareLiverpoolFC has to say. Surely every Liverpool fan would want to own a piece of their Club? We are all convinced that ShareLiverpoolFC is the best way forward for the Club we loved to play for ? and the Club we still love as fans.

As players, we know how fantastic the Norwegian support is for LFC. We know you love the Club and the city too. It is essential that such a big fan group should be properly represented when the fans own the Club.

It IS possible to do this. You just have to believe. Remember Istanbul!
